Council approves 3-year plan On November 7, 2000, the Council of the University for Peace approved the Institute's three-year business plan covering the calendar years 2001, 2002 and 2003. Curriculum Development Detailed plans are underway to develop courses, options, venues and teachers for both the academic (M.A.) and training streams which the Institute will offer. First training courses are planned for the spring of 2002, and first M.A. courses are planned for September 2002. Research Discussions are underway with potential researchers and funding sources for the Institute's first research projects. These studies will focus on timely topics and aim to suggest practical techniques to support preventive peacekeeping. Fund Raising The University for Peace is currently engaged in a major fund-raising campaign for both the Institute's first-year funding and for special projects such as sponsorship of specific courses and seminars.
